Methods of carpet cleaning

Bonnet cleaning

A chemical solution is sprayed on the carpet with an electric sprayer. The solution is left to settle in the carpet for a suitable amount of time. The bonnet is placed on a drive block and spun on the carpet surface. This method of carpet cleaning is one of the best.

2. Cleaning using an absorbent compound

A powder mixed with appropriate solvents; a cleaning compound is poured on top of the carpet and then driven into the carpet fibers with an appliance fitted with rotating brushes. The powder absorbs dirt from the carpet fibers. It then allowed to set in the carpet for 15 minutes; then vacuum cleaned.

3. Steam cleaning

A chemical reagent that liquefies oil-based substances and soils is spread on the carpet. Scorching water is pressurized then inoculated into the carpet and let to settle for 15 minutes; the suspension is rooted out with a vacuum.

• The cleaning solvent is allowed to stay on the surface of the carpet for a prolonged period.

4. Rotary shampoo method

The shampoo is applied to the carpet to help suspend dirt and fragments from the carpet which is worked into the carpet fibers with the rotating brushes of a machine, the form is hauled out with a vacuum.

• Carpet dries fast.

Cons

• Unable to extract soil below the carpet.
